Last day of the season

Considering a crappy season with not a lot of snow, it’s still pretty rad that we’ve been able to ski for six months straight!
It was gonna be the last day today but since we got some snow yesterday they just announced they’ll stay open for another couple weeks. It’s a bummer we are both busy and can’t go up one more time before the close for summer.

Mono Lake

We were looking forward to a day of spring skiing, but was welcomed by some clouds. We did get quite a few good runs in still before they closed for the day.
Since it’s so late in the season they close the lifts in the early afternoon to try to maintain the snow as much as possible.

We had all afternoon and no plans so we drove a few miles north on the 365 and hit the Mono Lake. Mono Lake used to be a very healthy little lake, but then came the human and fucked it up. Now we have to work on getting it back to normal again.

Gummy bears

Heading up to Mammoth for the weekend and found a 3 lb bag of gummy bears at Target. I think we have enough gummy’s for a while.

Bar humping

Since I walk the 3 miles to and from work every day and there’s a bunch of bars on the way, we came up with the brilliant idea of going bar hopping. Asher met up at work and we hit as many places we could on the way before we were ready to throw in the towel.
The first two were easy, Secret Lady Saloon and the Tattle Tale Room

Had a burger at Dear John’s, it was amazing, I definitely have to go back there!

It got a little difficult by the 4th beer and a little forced at Joxer Dailys. Ended up at Cinema Bar and got a ride home from there. I think we both thought we would get a little further, but we’re apparently not in our 20’s anymore.

Lazy Saturday

I’ve had all my weekends booked up in one way or another since January, so I am not used to not having any plans. I woke up super early and was restless. Baldwin Hills is only a short hike away and a good place to waste some time before the rest of the city wakes up.

Spent most of the day just being lazy by the pool. It’s good to have friends with friends.

Hop Courage

Went to another beer festival, this one was to make awareness of children with autism. The setting was awesome tight by the Coliseum, the weather was dodgy so not a lot of people came out, which means more beer for me!

LA Dodgers

I went to a baseball game today, a game that is slightly confusing to begin with. Today all the players played with number 42 on their backs, it made it even more confusing.
I got explained to me that number 42 belonged to Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play in the major leagues in the modern era, and they did this every year to honor him. That’s kind of cool!

We open the pool!

Last year we started hanging by the pool in mid March but the weather has been odd this year. Finally got some playtime today, and summer just started!
