The Simpsons Take the Bowl

The Simpsons were celebrating 25 years with a show at the Hollywood Bowl.

We had Duff Beer!

Fireworks, best way to blow up money!

Housewarming Party

6 months after moving in, Leo finally had a housewarming party.

I got him a Jenga as a housewarming gift, because every house needs a Jenga!

Elvis Costello at Hollywood Bowl

I finally got to see Elvis Costello so now I can check that off the list!
He played the Hollywood Bowl and it was super good! I expected it to be good, but not this amazing. He made some really good versions of Accidents Will Happen, Veronica and Watching the Detectives among a bunch of others.

Ok Go! at Santa Monica Pier

Headed down to Santa Monica pier to see Ok Go! play the Twilight Series.
I failed to be healthy and had a beer.

Both the Allah-las and Ok Go! were brilliant!

Labor Day

There were a ton of things I had planned for today – laundry, cleaning, shopping, hike and golf. But it’s Monday and I have the day off so I am being lazy.

Hitchcock at Hollywood Bowl

Started off the day as you should start off any day really, by jumping in the ocean!

After beach time we headed up to Hollywood to see the Hitchcock tribute at the bowl.

Sneaked in to the box seats to have our photo taken.

Hollywood Tour

I’ve done a Hollywood tour once before, 7 or so years ago. I have never felt the urge to do one again, but my friend in town wanted to do it so off we go!

The hotel where the last scene in Pretty Woman was shot.

I pretty quickly lost focus on the tour as nothing was really new to me and I got tired of listening to the guide saying mmmkay, alright and oh yeah! like a broken record. I should start charging people and do my own tour!

Got to take a selfie infront of the sign!

Guitar Center’s Hollywood RockWalk on Sunset Blvd.

The entrance to my least favorite city in California – Beverly Hills.

Drove around the streets of Beverly Hills for a while looking at big fences and gates where apparently big stars live or used to live. Carolwood Dr is where Michael Jackson spent his last hours on earth.

After almost two hours they dropped us back on the Hollywood Blvd, I felt like there was a lot he left out on the tour, like he didn’t show us the famous Troubadour Club or Rodeo Dr.

I should send more postcards!

Came across my current favorite creepy artists star on the boulevard.

Composting

I started composting! Probably doing it wrong… let’s see how long I’ll manage to keep the worms alive.

Lee Scratch Perry at the Pier

I’ve seen Lee Scratch Perry before and I know he is a bit of a nutter, but I still wanted to check him out at the Santa Monica Pier.

Apparently he stopped smoking pot a while ago because he want to be healthy, now he just puts it in his soup and sprinkle it over his daily dose of vegetables.
He is pretty hilarious! Imagine your 80 year old grandpa trotting around on stage repeating words over music and then shout something out all of a sudden. It seemed like ha had a ton of fun up there and I couldn’t stop myself from giggling the whole time. Classic!
