I’ve been busy lately and forgotten it’s summer. Jumped in the water today after work and it felt awesome!
Back at FYF
I was considering not even bother going to the festival today, but their social media pages were blowing up with angry fans saying they would not come back, so I figured it would be a lot less people and a much smoother day.
Got there at 2pm and just cruised through the front gate. So, why couldn’t it be this easy yesterday? Seemed unnecessary to piss so many fans off!
Today turned out to be exactly what I wanted yesterday to be, a lot of chilling in the grass listening to good music!
I’ll have to give it to the Fjällräven Kånken’s marketing department. They clearly did something right a few years ago as it is the bag of choice for the cool kids in Los Angeles. I giggle every time I see one (which was about every 5 minutes this weekend) and think of the brown one I had in pre-school.

FYF Fest
I went to FYF Fest in 2011 and thought it was pretty poorly organized but went again last year and it seemed like they had gotten their act together. They moved the festival this year so it was a lot closer to my place and only a few stops away on the metro. I was super excited.
The gates open at 2pm and I wanted to see Mariachi El Bronx at 2:30pm, but when we got there we were greeted by a huge line. We didn’t wanna wait in line so we found a bar and had a beer instead.
An hour later when we had finished out beer the line was even longer and I got pissed off. Everyone already had their wristbands so why did it have to take 3.5 hours to get people in through the gates? I missed a bunch of bands I wanted to see.
When we finally got inside it was super crowded and they had maxed out capacity for one of the indoor stages so even though we were at the festival we still couldn’t see or even hear the bands we actually came to see.
Nothing seemed to go right this time around so we were uninspired and headed back home before the sun set. Worst festival I have ever been to. You’d think that 11 years in the making they would have some clue, but apparently not. Huge bummer.
New Clubs
I made another birdie today and got a few new, used clubs. It’s time to step this game up!
Shark Week
It’s Shark Week! I am not entirely certain what that is exactly, more than my facebook feed has been filled with shark posts.
The Winn was hosting a shark themed Jaws movie viewing party to finish it off.
Earthquake Kit
My friend has been slapping me on my fingers because I don’t have enough food and water at home to survive for 4 days in the aftermath of a major earthquake.
I ran off to the store with the tail between my legs and picked up water and canned tuna. Still didn’t get the approved stamp though, apparently I need more water.

Artichoke Fail
Its not the first time this is happening to me, cooking an artichoke, and about halfway through getting a call from a friend who convince me to go out for a drink instead.
I just drain the water and put it back into the fridge.
