Bike Ride

Took my bike for another ride along the beach today. Cheated this time though and took the bus down to Marina Del Rey.

Made it down to my favorite sign at the Hermosa Beach Pier. We have to walk, bike and skateboard when the light flashes, right?

Halfway through a 22mile bike ride we definitely thought we were worth a tall beer and a greasy burger, but wait, we have to update instagram first!

I was having so much fun and was smiling the whole way down to Hermosa. The constant paddling on my one gear cruiser started to wear me down on the way home though and I fell behind. It’s not easy to compete with one of those fancy bicycles!

Romeo and Juliet

I have been to the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony in Verona, Italy, and I know the ending, but I have actually never seen or read Romeo and Juliet before. Today I was all cultural and went to see the play!

World Cup Final

Fandyland was showing the World Cup Final and had two rooms set up for Germany Vs Argentina.

Messi, proud to be #18 in Argentina.

Pool time after Germany’s win!

I forgot to charge my camera, so the rest of the party is still a mystery.

Still Sucking

I was supposed to be social last night, but I managed to stay in and fell asleep early instead. I woke up rested which was awesome as I had to run some errands today. Since I totally sucked last time I tried to play golf I thought I’d swing by the range and hit up a bucket. Turned out they had a contest today and I felt really out of place.
I think it might be time for me to get some proper clubs and take another lesson as it doesn’t feel like I’m doing any progress right now.

Cults at Santa Monica Pier

Cults were playing the Twilight Series at the Santa Monica Pier, we had some beer in a photo booth before heading down to the concert.

We usually hang out down there at the beach, but the sound down there is awful, so we wanted to stay on the pier this time.

We were a little busy gossiping and kind of missed that Cults was already up on stage and doing their show. I guess I was a little disappointed I didn’t pay more attention. I saw them a bunch when they were promoting their debut album, but that was a couple of years ago so I wanted to see how they were holding up nowadays. Still had a ton of fun though!

Putting

With the new golf app in one hand and the newly discovered putting technique in the other, I was excited to golfing today. I totally sucked. Maybe I should have a drink before going golfing instead of after, to make me more relaxed.

Rancho Park

The little golf adventure up in Mammoth was fun, but I was really glad to be back at Rancho Park where I am comfortable. I never thought I would like golfing this much! I made progress in my putting technique at the last two holes so now I feel like I have a better understanding on what to do.
I’m still super inconsistent, and there’s always a bunch of trees in my way, but it feels like I almost have it and I learn something new every time.
We found an app that keep track of scores and performances during our After Golf Beer, so now I wanna go back and try it out!

I’ve made the Surf Donkey my golfing hat.

Hermosa Beach

Wanna go for a bike ride, watch the world cup game and jump in the ocean? Let’s combine it all with a 30 mile long ride down to Hermosa Beach and back!

4th of July

I don’t like pre set days when you’re supposed to have a helluva great time. I have a great time most days anyways, so these days just come across as fake to me and I like to spend them with close friends where we don’t have to pretend we are having a great time.
The Winn is still vacationing, but we have keys and she has a roof top.
The cats are always happy to see me. They’re good at posing for head shots.

Steve Martin at Hollywood Bowl

It was such a blast last year when we went to see Steve Martin at the Bowl, so going back for his 4th of July Celebrations this year was a given!
It started with the National Anthem. I like to call it the Star Strangled Banner. I really should learn the lyrics to it, I’ve been in America long enough and I usually find it easy to learn lyrics to songs but there’s no good flow in this tune. I wish they would write out the lyrics “sing along style” for idiots like me.

Steve Martin was hilarious as always, and it ended with fireworks!
