The previous CicLAvia on Wilshire Blvd was so much fun, and I like to support these types of events, so even though I was tired from yesterdays surf session and late night shenanigans, I was up bright and early (eh, 8am…) to get ready for new adventures.
CicLAvia was closing down parts of Downtown today, we packed in our bicycles on the metro and took off.
Let’s Go Surfing!
I kind of sucked at surfing last week and was ready to give it up, but thought I’d give it one last chance.
We drove down to Dana Point, but saw this sweet old Volvo for sale in Venice, I fell in love a little. I should call and see how much they want for it.
The conditions were awesome in Dana Point and I rocked the surfboard! The challenge to with confidence be able to say I am a good surfer is still on! So much fun!
Learning to surf is exhausting, we stopped for coffee in Laguna Beach on the way back.
The day was not quite over yet. They had an Octoberfest in Huntington Beach, and since that was on our way home…

The XX at Hollywood Bowl
I think this might be my last show at the Bowl for this season. They gave out free wine samples, I tried 3!
I didn’t expect much out of the show as I kind of think the XX is a little depressing, I mostly went because I wanted to hang out with friends. The band was good though, and the light show was awesome!

Sound of Music Sing-A-Long
I love Sound of Music and have been wanting to go to the sing-a-long at Hollywood Bowl for years. I was so excited that we finally made it happen this year. So awesome! I wanna go again next year!
Moon Festival
The Chinese Moon Festival was yesterday, but we thought it’s better to celebrate on a Friday.
Putting meet in a coconut and put in on the BBQ? Yeah, survival style!

Basil Buddy
I thought I had some ugly bugs eating up my basil, but then this morning I saw this fella munching away. He was in heaven!
