More Cake

There’s a lot of birthdays this week so we decided to run into Whole Foods and grab some treats.

We’re going up to Mammoth this weekend so I had to wax my skis!

Cake

It’s Leila’s birthday, so I made her a cake. Happy Birthday!

LA Sightseeing

Whenever there’s friends and family in town we do the usual LA Sightseeing route; it starts at Santa Monica Pier.

We saw sea lions in the water.
Stop two was Hollywood.

Hollywood Boulevard
Last stop today was Downtown LA and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Chinese New Year

It was the Chinese new year this week and there were a bunch of festivities scheduled in Chinatown this weekend. We were going to downtown anyway and thought we’d stop by Chinatown as well to check it out.

Unfortunately, we got there early and couldn’t be bothered to stick around, but Chinatown is always good for photos whether there’s an event or not.

We decided to walk from Chinatown to Little Tokyo and passed Pueblo de Los Angeles, which I believe is the very oldest part of Los Angeles.

Artsy stuff outside downtown LAPD;

We made it to Little Tokyo and my favorite restaurant Chin-Ma-Ya for noodles!

Sunday Food

I wasn’t craving potatoes or anything, but I still decided to make potato chips – it’s super easy, just slice the potato in thing slices, put it in the owen with olive oil and herbs/spices until they get colorful. I read it works without the oil as well, gonna have to try that next time!

I had to balance the unhealthy with something health; freshly pressed carrot and apple juice, very awesome!

Yakitori and Hot Pot

I have grown to really enjoy Hot Pot. I dont know how healthy it is, but I am only eating the veggies so I cant imagine it being that bad for me. I however cannot seem to stop eating until the bowl of veggies are empty.
Setting the table and preparing the food, yes, a big bowl of veggies ready for my tummy!

Yakitori was on the menu as well; Japanese styled skewered chicken.

Hot Pot spicy side and the not so spicy side. I usually go for the not so spicy side…

Comic Sans

I can live with this company not getting my name right, but from one designer to another; it’s not OK to use Comic Sans.
