Warrior Dash 2011

We did the Warrior Dash today, a 12 obstacle 5k course. I have a about one million excuses on why I was just about to pass out half way, but I’m just gonna leave it at that I’m in a bad shape! Here’s photos taken by Deborah Krelle and Fei Chou
The ABC family before the dash; I thought I was gonna get the prize for the best beard, but it went to someone else.

First obstacle hay bales;

Second obstacle, the car crash;

Third obstacle, jumping fences and crawling under barbed wire;

The swamp was super stinky!

Jumping the fire!

Getting dirty!

Racing for the finish line,

We donated our shoes after the race.

Happy but exhausted warriors after the run.

Turkey legs after the race was yum!

DOM at the Satellite

Saw DOM at the Satellite last night. I am still not quite sure if I love this band or just like them. I love some of their songs and the singer reminds me of Shaun White, but live they sometimes kind of reminded me of Blink 182. The song Jesus is very very good though!

Pogo at Lot 613

Pogo was in town and we were very excited to see him!

Pogo is this Australian kid who is cutting sounds and clips together from famous movies to create new music.

Crazy friends.
Here’s a mix he did of Disney’s Snow White.

Museum of Jurassic Technology

I had some time to kill and finally had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City.
They’ve got a bunch of really weird stuff, like this horn that was found in the back of someones neck, I say it’s just a dread lock!

A collection of letters sent to Pasadena Observatory about black holes in the sun, stars and how God created the world.

It turned out the museum was much larger than I thought so I did not have time to explore even a 10th of the museum! I have to come back another time!

Habla?

I’m working on my list of 11 things to do in 2011 and signed up for a Spanish class at Santa Monica College. I was super excited for the class to start!

We were waiting for 30 minutes but the instructor never showed, so bummed!

Radio Dept. at the El Rey

The Radio Dept. played an sold out show at the El Rey last night and I was super excited.

I love their music and thought they were great when I saw them back in 2003, so my expectations were high.
Unfortunately I think my expectations were a little too high as I was a little disappointed by the end of the show. The first half of the set was kind of boring, while the second half was a lot better, but not good enough to justify for the boring first half.
