IPA
X-mas party and a bunch of beers
I was invited to a X-mas party at the Winn and since I’m several beers behind in my beer calendar I brought them all to the party.
Started off with the Speakeasy Scarlett Red Rye Ale. I am a big fan of the Speakeasy brewery.
Second beer was the Guinness Nitro IPA. Interesting but I’ve had better IPA’s in my life.
Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat, didn’t finish. I gave it away after a sip.
Magic Hat Vinyl Amber Lager, it was ok.
Had the last beer on the rooftop, watching the sunset.
Ski day 3 and beer number 5
We went to the store to grab beers after a full day of skiing. Apparently we had to get these 32 fl oz of Miller High Life because that’s the “Champagne of beers”. I wanted to take a photo to show how large the bottle was but that totally backfired on me because Jessie is a giant!
I got to drink my calendar beer before moving on to the “champagne”. Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. I like it!
Golf
I am a bit of an expert on finding abandoned golf balls, I think I got that skill from my grandfather who used to walk his dog by the golf course and always picked up lost balls.
Most of the balls I find are not that awesome, some of them are pretty good and a few are really crappy practice balls. Since I still kind of suck at the whole golf thing, I don’t really think it matters what balls I am playing, but everyone else makes fun of me for playing with the practice balls so I hit the range today and got rid of them.
Everyone mark their balls differently so you know which ones is yours when you play in a group. A few months back I started to mark my balls with the date I found them. Let’s see how long it takes before I lose this one!
I’m supposed to be packing for the camping trip this weekend, but packing is boring. Drinking beer is more fun.
Ski El Colorado
At the end of the day, we agreed that it was an awesome “bad day”. Overcast and not a lot of snow, but we are just happy we get to ski!
It took forever to get down the hill to get back and as we past one of the 180 turns we found out why; horses are blocking the road! I’m slow as usual and only got their butts.
As there were free overnight street parking after 8pm, we stopped by a sports mall on the way home to check out prices on ski gear (pretty much the same price as in the US), waste some time and a cup of coffee at the Burgers Beers and Boards cafe.
We had no special requests for dinner so we just stepped into the first place that was open and seemed ok. I got two local IPA’s, one with a terrible pour.
We are staying in the Barrio Brasil neighborhood, they have a street called Santa Monica, photo needed.
