Beer Crawl in Little Tokyo

There were a beer crawl in Little Tokyo tonight, we were running a little late, but managed to get a flight before they ended for the night.

Tour the Fat

Tour the Fat made it to Los Angeles, New Belgium Brewing Co’s way of promote the beer and support the bicycle community.

A bunch of hipsters and beautiful Downtown LA in the background.

There were a bunch of live performances, a lot of them were super weird, but super fun!

Santa Barbara

We had a chill morning on the campground, deciding what to do of the day.
We took off to Santa Barbara, and the Brewing Company for a beer flight.
I like Santa Barbara a lot and today was a beautiful day. It was two days since I showered, so it was nice to jump in the ocean!

Had an awesome lobster roll for lunch out on the pier.

Santa Barbara harbour.

Puerto Nuevo

We took a day trip down to Mexico to eat lobster, something I’ve been wanting to do for over a year now!

They have Gringa Cerveza on the menu.
I settled for a more local version though.

I had two lobster and a beer for US$20

Nice view from the restaurant.

We stopped by a taco stand on the way home. I did not really feel it though, so I passed.

LA Dodgers vs Chicago White Sox

We had tickets to go see Los Angeles Dodgers take on Chicago White Sox at the Dodger Stadium, and I got to cross one more thing off my 12 things to do in 2012 list!
They had all you could eat junk food and the beer was expensive and not very flavorful.

I was excited to see the game at first, then I got bored, because it is a boring sport, I didn’t know the rules and it seemed like no one cared – everyone was busy eating the free junk food. But then I got a hang of the basic rules, someone started the wave and the Dodgers started to win after being down with a few points, so it got excited again.

Los Angeles Dodgers won at the end and we got to go down to the field and watch fireworks, everyone was happy!

Disney’s WonderGround Gallery

Martin Hsu had a couple of pieces in the WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney. Today was the opening and artist signing.

Mickey’s Blossom of Dreams by Martin Hsu;

 Hipster Mickey by Jerrod Maruyama;

Mousetown by Sean D’Anconia;
After the art gallery we went to the ESPN bar to get a  beer and catch the second half of the Germany-Portugal football game.

I was super excited to go to the Lego store, I LOVE Lego!

They give you a jar and you can fill it up with a mix of your favorite Lego pieces, just like in a candy shop!

Who said Lego is just for kids? They also have the amazing architecture line!

When I was a kid, my older brother had a bunch of Technic Lego that I was never allowed to touch. But I sneaked into his room pretty much everyday after school before he came home and played with it anyway. Today I bought my own!

Walk to Downtown Culver City

We only live about 2 miles away from Downtown Culver City and have always talked about taking the bus to downtown and then walk home, and stop by all the stores along the way home. We were finally gonna do it today!

As we were waiting for the bus, we changed our minds and thought it’d be a better idea to walk there and take the bus home, this way we could stop by the supermarket and wouldn’t have to carry all the groceries home.

We didn’t get very far on our walk – we had to stop by Cafe Brazil across the street for a drink before we felt ready!

Ready to go, one drink later!

Our second stop was after about 1 mile;  Joxer Daiy’s on the other side of the freeway.

We shared a pitcher and kept walking – I am so excited for the Copenhagen Pastry to open! When is it gonna open?

We made it to downtown and stopped by Rocco’s Tavern. We were all pretty full by this, but the bartender tricked us into ordering the large beers, it took us a while to finish them.
