Mammoth opening weekend

Mid November opening, hell yeah we’ll be there!

Conditions were as epic as expected… but hey, there’s snow, and it’s only November.

I’m in better shape this year so I didn’t actually get very tired, but there’s only two slopes open and there’s just so many times you can go up and down before you run out of creativity and feel it’s time to wind down with a beer.

We went to the Mammoth Brewing Company, I’ve been wanting to go for a while. Beer is ok, I like drinking local, but the logo makes me uncomfortable.

El Segundo Brewing Company

Me and Mika took our bikes down to El Segundo Brewing Co for some beer tasting.

Started our 1h ride home before we got to drunk so we could get home before the sun set.

Oktoberfest

My friends are pretty awesome. And also, we don’t like other people, so we throw our own Oktoberfest party so we don’t have to interact with people we don’t know.

Sunday

I’ve always been a morning person and even though I stayed up late last night I woke up early, rested and refreshed.
I love beating the crowd and do a round of golf before it gets super hot and the rest of Los Angeles wakes up.

It’s a short course so I was done by 10am and decided to go for a bike ride down to the beach. The morning fog wasn’t even burnt off when I got there. Still a ton of people and the water is super sweet.

Finished off the day by watching Romeo & Juliet.

LAX-CHP

Found a cheap flight and decided to surprise my mom.

My first flight was early in the morning so I didn’t have my regular pre-flight beer but I had plenty of time for that at my stopover in Toronto.
Alexander Keith’s IPA didn’t taste anything like an IPA. Tasted more like a lager to me.

The Simpsons Take the Bowl

The Simpsons were celebrating 25 years with a show at the Hollywood Bowl.

We had Duff Beer!

Fireworks, best way to blow up money!

Ok Go! at Santa Monica Pier

Headed down to Santa Monica pier to see Ok Go! play the Twilight Series.
I failed to be healthy and had a beer.

Both the Allah-las and Ok Go! were brilliant!

Birthday Bash

It was Fei’s birthday this week, we celebrated today.
Took the metro to Downtown LA.

Fei is obsessed with french macaroons, so the first stop was Bottega Louie.

I like the being downtown, it feels like I am in a proper city.

Scavenger hunt at the Grand Central Market.

Drinks at Perch before heading off to dinner.

Last Day – El Colorado

I wasn’t feeling it today. I was fine in the morning, but as soon as I got into the chair I got cold. As we drove up the mountain we could see it being sunny at the top, but the clouds were constantly breathing down our necks.

We were skiing for a couple of hours, but my toes were cold and the visibility was bad, so we took an early break.

I actually felt motivated after the break, but the conditions turned even worst. The last run down it started to rain, we could see about 6 feet in front of us and I got motion sick.
We threw in the towel.

Asher suggested we go to that indian restaurant in that hotel that hotel I had mentioned. We went there but they didn’t open until later at night. Since we were in the neighborhood and we had walked by Los Vikingos a few nights before, I suggested we go there instead.

They had awesome restrooms!

If we understand the sign correctly, this place rent by the hour?

Back at the airport, time to leave Chile for now.

A last beer while we are waiting for me to be checked in.

So, I am flying business class this trip. Flying business does not necessary mean you get to hang out in the airline lounge, but as I checked in to go home, the guy behind the counter told me to go here. I got to hang out with the old people and drink free wine. My first glass of wine in Chile is at the airport lounge waiting to go home… what happen?
