Tuesday Afternoon

I had a meeting scheduled for tonight, but it got cancelled so I hit up the driving range instead. I didn’t totally suck today, didn’t hit very far, but I think I learned a lot during my lesson on Saturday.

I hit a medium bucket of balls, it only takes about 45 minutes so I thought I should head over and hike the stairs after, but as I pulled up at home I got reminded about the Culver City Farmers Market down the street and though golfing was enough exercising for one day.

I love cauliflower but have been a bit worried about the evolution of this tasty thing. What’s up with the green and purple cauliflowers? Is that natural? I turned to the internet and found out Purple, orange, and green cauliflowers haven’t been genetically engineered; rather, they are natural mutants of white cauliflower”  so that’s all good.

About 30 minutes later I had spent all the cash I had on me and returned home. I love where I live.

Johnny Walker Tasting

I started off the day with a golf lesson. I totally sucked at it, but I learned some very helpful tips, now I just have to practice a lot! I was exhausted after an hour of hitting balls, who knew it could be that exhausting?
After golfing, I got a call in for pool play, nice!

I should’ve taken a nap, but I did 10 laps in the pool instead, and after dinner we headed out for a Johnny Walker tasting.
It seems like these tasting are getting more lame for each time we are doing them. We have done a few Johnny Walker tastings before, so we kind of knew the basics already, and that was good because this tasting was not very informative.
The space was super cool, but they pretty much just gave us 4 drinks and let us run with it. The pretty girls in the mini skirts serving the drinks was not of much help either, since they did not know anything about the various whiskeys.

K-Town Night Market

We took the metro to Korea Town to check out the night market. It was quite an adventure. People people everywhere! We didn’t stay for very long, I was kind of over it as soon as I saw that it was over populated. We spent about an hour trying to figure out what to do next and it got to the point that no one wanted to do anything so we all headed back home instead.

Blood Moon

There was a blood moon last night. A full lunar eclipse when the moon is full. I have tried but never managed to get a good photo of the moon before, but with a little help from a tripod and Leogra I got the settings right! Super happy!

Somewhere around here I was stupid and was gonna change lens on my camera. I never got the right settings back so I gave up. The moon turned red, but not really blood red. Still very cool!

Paddle Marina Del Rey

I love paddling around the Marina, it’s super fun and chill with a lot of things to look at.

We saw the usual boats, house boats, birds and sea lions, but we also saw dolphins in the middle of the marina, just a few feet away from us! How awesome! I didn’t even attempt to take a photo of them, since my camera is eh… not that good.

The paddle team!

After the paddle session and lunch, I headed over to the golf store to pick up a couple of clubs so I can be a proper golfer.

Doing it Michael Jackson style with only one white glove! Third time at the driving range and I am hitting more consistent, but still not very far. I should get a proper lesson so I don’t teach myself bad habits.

Playing Golf

I’ve been thinking about start playing golf for quite some time and finally hit up the Rancho Park driving range today.
I knew I was a lefty, but was handed a right hand club. I totally sucked and could not even hit the ball. I kept thinking to myself that I shouldn’t be this shitty so I picked up a lefty club and started to hit like a pro!

My goal for the day was to hit as far as the sand dune. Once I figured out how to swing with the hip I hit the sand pretty consistent. I later found out it was 100 yards.

I had a quite tiresome meeting after my golf session, and then out for dinner. A homeless man gave me a rose in exchange for my leftovers. I told him I really didn’t need a rose, but he wanted to give it to me anyway. How sweet!

Greater Wilshire Elections

The Greater Wilshire had their neighborhood council election today, I was volunteering so I could get a better idea of what to expect when my neighborhood have our election later on in May.

The elections were held at the John Burroughs Middle School. How depressing. Are we living in the 21’s Century, or are we still in the 1970’s?

Venice High

There was a Town Hall meeting at the Venice High School tonight. I went there to represent Palms.
Turns out that the Venice High School Auditorium is pretty depressing. The school should charge more from all the film crews that come in and film movies and music videos at this location so they can modernize this thing a little.

The Irish Times

There’s only a couple of weeks left to sign up to run for a seat on the board. The election team went to the Irish Times to see if we could find any candidates.

The current president made an appearance. Representin’!
