Yappy Hour

I was asked by my former boss to help out during a dog event at Park La Brea. All I had to do was basically just standing there and smile and greet dogowners and answer any questions that came up about the company.

Melissa, owner of Melissa’s Mutt Hutt and her rescue dog Burrito.

A lot of people are picking on Burrito, cos he is kind of obese. He is put on a strict diet now though and has apparently already lost 5 pounds, which is a lot for such a small dog!

There wasnt a lot of dogs showing during the first hour so I was put off duty and could go home fairly early.

Daylight Saving

I have made it into a habit to stop by the Baldwin Hill Stairs on my way home from work. It is nice to get some heart rate going and clear my thoughts from work so I can re-focus on homework. After changing the time to daylight saving the sun is setting quickly, I stopped and snapped this photo on my last run down to the bottom of the hill.

Halloween

I have never been a big fan of Halloween, and didnt wanna do anything but stay at home for the night. My friends wanted me to tag along to LACMA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, I’m glad I did, I had a great time! As you can imagine there were a lot of creative costumes. My costume didnt allow for me to use my left hand, and my right hand was constantly occupied, so I couldnt take a lot of photos. I did manage to snap a few shots of my friends though.

It was a lot of people, but not crowded. It was perfect!

They had a free photo booth set up, we love the free photo booths!

Italian American Reconciliation

We went to see a live show at the Ruskin Group Theatre Co., a tiny theater by Santa Monica Airport.

The show was called Italian American Reconciliation, it was great!

School Night

Wednesday night is school night. I was slacking off a little in the beginning off the quarter but have gotten into the groove again lately. I really enjoy doing my homework at the moment, having a lot of fun and it is easy to concentrate and not bum around and surf internet during my study sessions. My teacher hated what I had done for my Advanced Typography though, I have to scratch out 3 weeks worth of work and start from the beginning, it kind of sucks.
Our assignment was to pick a neighborhood, create a title treatment and then a magazine spread, my friend picked Castaic. The teacher loved it!

I like the teacher, he is a funny guy, but the crits can be so booring sometimes!

I have never been good at taking notes, I looked over my friends shoulder, thought she was taking notes, but it turned out she was working on an assignment for a different class!

Thrill The World -09

At 5:30pm pacific time on October 24th 2009, a new world record was set; world record for “Largest Simultaneous Thriller Dance” (multiple locations). I heard that about 50 000 people across the world did the dance at the very same time, yeah, people were up in the middle of the night in Europe and Asia to do the dance. In LA, they did the dance at Staples Center.

I have watched my friends practicing the dance steps for weeks, not dressed up as zombies though.

Michel Jackson himself did a guest appearance.

Here is a video of the dance.

Sushi Party

Our friend finally found her way home from Taiwan and we are done with unpacking boxes (kind of), we decided to throw a party. We got inspired from the Sushi we made the other night so Sushi was on the menu again tonight.

Cupcakes and Turtlerace

We went to an event yesterday, I am still a little unsure what the event was about… but they were serving free champagne and cupcakes so we had to go 🙂

It was held in a small boutique on Abbot Kinney in Venice, they sold a bunch of greeting cards and other paper related items.

The event was all about mingling, and they had set up a photo booth as well. FUN!

It got pretty crowded and hot in the boutique, so we moved on to Brennan’s Pub and the Thursday night turtle races.

Rain

Los Angeles get an average of 35 days of rain every year. Today is one of those days. I love it!
