Amer and Nahargarh Fort
Turns out, elephants are pretty big!
Hey you on the elephant, you wanna buy a keyring? Best price for you, almost free!
No, we still don’t wanna buy your keyring.
After Amer, it was time for Nahargarh Fort, it’s a shame no one still lives in these forts!
Jaipur the Pink City doesn’t look very pink.
We had dinner in a fancy restaurant. They did not have a liquor licence, but if you brought your own beer and poured it in on of their tea pots first, it was OK! Best tea I ever had!
Jaipur
This is where the current king of Rajasthan lives – I think.
This is the larges single piece of silver according to the Guinness Book of Records. The brits apparently did not care to much about the silver.
Taj Mahal
It is pretty impressive! I wonder if I am gonna get a grave like this when I die.
You can see the foundation of the black Taj Mahal across the river that the king was gonna build for himself so he could have his final rest side by side to his favorite wife. But his son stepped in and said “You are not gonna spend all that money that I am supposed to heritage, I am putting you in house arrest instead!” so it was never completed.
Apparently all the details used to be in gold according to our tour guide, but then the brits came “and took all the gold and replaced it with copper.”
Garba Party
Wild monkeys were hanging out!
Street vendors are preparing for Diwali later this month.
We went to a Garba party later in the evening, I almost got the steps down, but it was difficult to move around in a sari!
Now, everybody watch while this white man eat this thing…
