Saturday with the family

My dad always have breakfast ready when everyone else wakes up, it’s been like that for as long as I remember. It’s the best thing ever!

We went into the little town of Laholm for the yearly farmers market after breakfast. There wasn’t a lot of exciting stuff, but we had to try everything!

Lunchfika at the cafe, this is where the family maxed out dad’s credit card.

Last time I rode a horse was some 13 years ago if I remember correctly so I don’t think my mom was expecting the “yeah” when she asked late last night if I wanted to take the stallion out for a ride.
My mom think I can just pick up where I left off 13 years ago and it wasn’t more comforting that she kind of quickly mentioned that no one has been sitting on him for over a year, after I get up. I was super shaky and thought I’d fall off right away, but I eventually got a hang of it.

People who don’t ride horses think it’s a piece of cake, but it is actually truly exhausting. It didn’t take me long to get winded and every muscle in my body started to give up. I’ll be happy if I can get out of bed tomorrow.
The kids got to ride him after.

Playtime before dinner.

Kids showing off their awesome wooden horses that they made yesterday. Have to show them off like at a proper show where the handler take a step away to get out of the photo!

My favoritest dog in the world!

My favoritest chef and grillmaster in the world!

Made it to Sweden

Met up with my siblings and the kids at the ferry terminal in Helsingborg before walking into the restaurant on the ferry to surprise mom.

It’s only a 20 minute ride between Helsingborg and Helisngør so we went back and fourth a couple of times. You get a pretty decent view over the Kronborg Slot, or Hamlets Castel as it’s probably better known as.

Got home and had some play time. Super stoked the kids are still using their skateboards, though it seems like the rollerblades might be more popular at the moment.

Waiting for the chef to finish up dinner, what would life be without cellphones?

Best dinner ever!

It’s kind of a bummer that the kids also like crayfish, I’d rather have them stay away so it’ll be more for me.

LAX-CHP

Found a cheap flight and decided to surprise my mom.

My first flight was early in the morning so I didn’t have my regular pre-flight beer but I had plenty of time for that at my stopover in Toronto.
Alexander Keith’s IPA didn’t taste anything like an IPA. Tasted more like a lager to me.

Vans

I went shopping for shoes with my nephew over x-mas. I insisted that he had to get a pair of Vans. I did a rookie aunty move though and got him a pair of shoes that fit, not realizing that kids actually grow. 4 months later I got a message that the shoes no longer fit. I had to head over to my favorite store after work today to get him a new pair.
Super tempted to get myself a new pair as well, but I already have 7 pairs and that will have to do for now.

May Flower

My 9 year old niece called me and asked if I wanted to buy a May Flower. Kids in Sweden sell these little pins and stickers throughout April and the proceeds go to kids in need.
I sold them once when I was a kid, and I remember it was pretty dreadful and kind of a hassle.
Since it’s going to a good cause, I thought I’d help the kid out, buy a sticker and put it on my old beaten up laptop.
But then the other day the sticker showed up in mail together with an awesome note from the 9 year old asking if I was gonna put it on my scooter.
Now I kind of had to tag my scooter, and send a photo to the my niece. It looks pretty awesome!

Star Eco Station

A good thing with having friends and family in town is that you get to do things that you normally won’t do in your every day life. I’ve been wanting to go to the Star Eco Station in Culver City for quite some time and we had a few hours to kill before the family had to head back to the airport.

Star Eco Station take care of exotic animals that has been smuggled into the country or given up for any other reason.
They give tours and you get to pet some of the animals, you can even have birthday parties here!

Manhattan Beach

I used to live two blocks away from this beach, but I rarely go down to South Bay nowadays.

Happy New Year!

We started off the new year with making sure that the Hollywood sign was still there!

We had to check out the Culver City skate park since the kid got a brand new skateboard!
