Skull Rock Hike
Starting off the new year with being healthy, hiking Skull Rock in Pacific Palisades.
Mammoth in August
Burro tunnel, biking, hiking and the fault line!
Hike Nordals
Yes there’s lifts and we have lift passes, but you’re supposed to hike Nordals when you are in RiksgrÀnsen.
Solstice Canyon hike
When we were in our 20’s we used to be out ’til the early morning on shenanigans, sleep for a few hours, have an ice cream for breakfast and take off on 4 hour hikes before it got to hot.
Apparently I got old. My body was not into the 8 am wake up call or the 45 minute drive in the morning and I was about to give up before even getting out of the car.
With a bit of a push I made it through the loop though and it made me feel a lot better.
Then I crashed on the beach. I had to invest in an “hanged over umbrella” so I could stay in the shade. It was very much worth it!
There was a ton of people at the beach today!
Mammoth Hike
I’ve been wanting to hike up to the top of Mammoth Mountain for a while and I finally got to do it!
I thought I was gonna die after the first 10 minutes, it’s not easy to live on sea level and think you can just drive up to 8 000 ft and do a hike up to 11 000 ft, it’s pretty tough on your lungs…
Once I got acclimatized it was pretty smooth though.
It’s really, really sad to see how brown it is and how little water there is in the lakes.
Lazy Saturday
I’ve had all my weekends booked up in one way or another since January, so I am not used to not having any plans. I woke up super early and was restless. Baldwin Hills is only a short hike away and a good place to waste some time before the rest of the city wakes up.
Spent most of the day just being lazy by the pool. It’s good to have friends with friends.
