Cults at MOCA
Cults were doing a free show at the MOCA, I think we might have seen them one or two times to many by now so they don’t excite me that much right now. I think the problem with free shows as well is that everyone is just there for the shits and giggles, no one really pay attention to the band performing.
The Cults always puts on a good show though.
They had these bouncing balls at the event and Leo managed to smuggle one out.
No at the Central SAPC
Went to see No at the Central SAPC in Santa Monica. A good show, even though the singer was fairly drunk.
Yo Yo Ma at the Hollywood Bowl
Todays concert at the bowl was the Polar Music Prize winner Yo Yo Ma. It was a little to slow for my taste.
Pixar in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl
First Hollywood Bowl concert of the season; Pixar!
I am not super familiar with the music from Pixar, but they had a big screen over the stage showing the videoclips that really helped.
Mr Little Jeans at the Echo
Went to see Mr Little Jeans play at the Echo.
Who Shot Rock & Roll
We went to KCRW Live show at the Who Shot Rock & Roll exhibit at the Annenberg Space for Photography. It was a tribute night for T-Rex and Portugal the Man was playing live. The there was a huge line for the actual photo exhibit so we didn’t make it in, we’ll have to come back another day.
We headed to the Bar 107 downtown to send our friend Ina away to her Masters Program with a party.
They had a photo booth. It was an awesome night!
The Heavy at the Bootleg
We had tickets to go see The Heavy at the Bootleg Theatre. I wasn’t expecting much since I don’t care too much about their music.
Wake Up Lucid was the first band on, they were really good, I would definitely go see them again!
The next band on were The Skins, a bunch of kids (they’re all under 21 – drummer was only 13!) from Brooklyn, they were amazing!
Last on were The Heavy, and they were pretty lame after such a great performance from The Skins.
