Make Music Pasadena

Make Music Pasadena is a free music festival in beautiful downtown Pasadena. The line up was pretty good, but it was hot, a lot of people and again, I felt like the festival wasn’t that well organized.

We saw a couple of songs with Cults, but we couldn’t see that well because of the crowd and we’ve seen them a few times before so we went over to another stage.

Tons of people wanted to see Grimes as well so it didn’t take us many songs before we decided to go for beers instead.

Dry the River at the Bootleg

We went to see Dry the River play at the Bootleg Theater. I was lazy and didn’t bring my camera, but got to borrow my friends one.
Noah and the Megafauna was the opening act, they were really good!

Marvelous Toy was the second bad out, they were pretty good as well.

Dry the River were ok. I find them kind of boring. I also think they need to take a shower.

Silverlake Jubilee

We headed over to the Silverlake Jubilee for some music, food trucks and people watching.
It was a super small festival with only two stages, but not very well organized though, so you had no idea who was playing where and when.
The Maine Lobster Truck was there and it was delicious!

Best food truck I’ve had so far!

Geographer and I Break Horses at the Echo

We went to see Geographer do an awesome set at the Echo.
As a bonus, we got to see I Break Horses from Sweden as well.

It’s a really cool band, but they are kind of boring live. I love this type of music, but I also don’t like to see this type of music live, as all they are doing is just standing there in backlight. I might as well just listen to the records. We were all tired so we went hope after a few songs.

Unique LA

Unique LA is a design show created as a way to bring local-made design to the masses.

Martin was there so we stopped by his booth.

Accessories that probably only design geeks would wear.

I really like this; old beer bottles transformed into glasses!

They had a photo booth as well!

Los Angeles is pretty flat…

We stopped by Amoeba after the show, I found this album by Orup, a Swedish artist – I didn’t buy it though.

First Friday May

Another month has passed by and it was time for another First Friday at the Natural History Museum.

The fun thing with this museum is that you discover something new every time you’re there. I’ve never seen this green snail before!
Dino was there this time as well.

Karaoke after!

Kasabian at Jimmy Kimmel Live

We went to see Kasabaian do an amazing gig at the Fonda Theatre on Tuesday – It was definitely the best show of the year so far! So we went to see them again doing a free mini show for Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Santa Barbara

We had tickets to go see Friends and Tune-Yards in Santa Barbara, and had planned for a full Sunday of chill with our cameras in Santa Barbara. I had charged my camera battery overnight but after just one shot it ran out of power.

I think it’s something with Santa Barbara, last time I went up I forgot my memory card.
We had a great day anyway and stopped by Santa Barbara Brewing Company for a flight of beers.
