Wedding Reception

It’s Saturday, everything is prepared and it’s time for a party!

Party favors!

Lina is preparing the last bit of the food;

Looks and tasted amazing!

Proud dad holding a speech for the couple;

Happy newlyweds;

This was probably the guest with the most punk attitude…
Wedding cake, delicious!

Dandelions

I guess dandelions are considered a type of weed, but I think it’s beautiful! And in Sweden they’re called worm-roses, so yeah to me it’s a rose!

How do you fight a jet lag and play with kids at the same time? -You lay on the grass and let the kids play with your camera!

I grew up with horses but have never been any good at taking photos of them. I always fails when it comes to angles and framing.

Sweden!

I made it all the way to Sweden and took the train to Katrineholm.
My mother and the kids picked me up at the train station. I was ready to start feasting on the Swedish delicatessen but the kids wanted to go to McDonalds… Yes, I traveled from America halfway around the world, and my first “meal” was at McDonalds!

But we went for ice cream after, that made me happy!

Our childhood friend has a catering business and my sister was there to help prepare the food for the wedding reception when I stopped by to surprise her!

They claimed to be working, but during the hour I was there, all they did was drinking coffee and chatting away. I did see they had prepared for the cake though… chocolate!
Rhubarb at my parents house! I wish I had rhubarb in my backyard as well.
Crayfish from the Swedish lakes for dinner, my favorite!

Sweden Bound

My sister is having her wedding reception, I told her I wasn’t gonna be able to make it, but decided to surprise the family and show up over the weekend anyway!
Music is a good companion on a 20h something trip!

Santa Barbara

We had tickets to go see Friends and Tune-Yards in Santa Barbara, and had planned for a full Sunday of chill with our cameras in Santa Barbara. I had charged my camera battery overnight but after just one shot it ran out of power.

I think it’s something with Santa Barbara, last time I went up I forgot my memory card.
We had a great day anyway and stopped by Santa Barbara Brewing Company for a flight of beers.

San Francisco Day 2

I dont know why our friends thought we might wanted to drink beer for breakfast, but we got to sit outside and have breakfast in the sun, and the banana pancakes were awesome!

It always fascinates me when beautiful sceneries gets destroyed by ugly wires – why not place them underground instead? It’s all part of the charm though I guess.

We walked up the Corona Heights peak after breakfast, great views!

Downtown San Francisco.

I’ve been to San Francisco many times before but never visited the legendary Haight & Ashbury until today.
It was by Haight and Ashbury that the whole hippie movement started and there’s now a bunch of commercial stores combined with a lot of second hand and tourist trap stores in the neighborhood.

Lunch at Magnolia before heading back home to Los Angeles.

San Francisco

Headed up to San Francisco for the weekend to visit friends.
Driving in to the city over the Bay Bridge;

A couple of our friends live in Castro, which they say is “the gayest part of the gayest city”.

When you walk around the neighborhood you can come across windows with dolls in them, cute you may think at a first glance…

Before you realize they have their pants down. This is apparently totally normal.

We walked from Castro to the Mission district to grab brunch.
San Francisco have these cute call boxes on the street corners in case of a fire, I love them!

Chocolate Pudding for brunch, what else?

We kept on walking around the Mission after brunch and checked out a bunch of cute stores and sights. This building used to be the Levis Strauss factory, before I assume, they moved it to China or Taiwan…

Santa Con (people dress up as Santas and go bar hopping) was in San Francisco this weekend, so we saw a bunch of Santas on the streets. I wish I knew about it and I would have bought my Santa hat.

After a couple of hours of more walking, it was time for an afternoon beer break.

“What? No, we’re just hanging out on the street corner.”

My friends thought it was time for some coffee and so I had my very first freshly roasted and brewed cup of coffee.

High on caffein from my first ever cup of coffee, I was not ready to go home and stopped at about one million places to take photos. I love San Francisco though, it is very photo friendly!

More Santas on their way home from the pub.

Family Time

Funerals sucks, but I got a couple of bonus days with my family which is always appreciated! Playing hide and seek in grandpa’s backyard!

Feeding the birds with all the left over bird food we could find, the bird’s gonna be extremely happy, cos there were a lot of food!

Taking Off

Heading off to Sweden for to say a last good-bye to Grandpa. Not feeling so hot but a pepto-bismol, yoghurt and a Sam Adams is a good base for a 15 something hour flight, right?
