Be Neighbor

I was at Sawtelle both Friday and Saturday night this weekend, so I thought I should go there for lunch today as well…
I saw this little fella as we were crossing the street, pretty neat!

Wurstkuche

We went to a birthday party for a 1 year old today, which was fun, but we were all more excited to go to Wurstkuche after the party…

Aligator and rattlesnake sausage!

Kwak beer in a special glass!

We had to pay a visit to our favorite wall as well while we were in the neighborhood.

JapanLA’s 5 Year Anniversary Art show

JapanLA turned 5 and we went to the party. Off course, Hello Kitty was there, and someone was in heaven!

I should get myself some of them shoes!

These two random guys wanted me to take a photo of them, so here it is!

We found a Martin Hsu original, that guy is everywhere!

I wonder if he got inspired to this painting by our cat White…

Nice little man spray painted on the pavement outside.

Culver City Art Walk 2011

We talked about the Culver City art walk last weekend and thought we had missed it this year, but it turned out it’s this weekend!
I was a little disappointed with this year’s art walk, didn’t find much inspiring art.

We walked by this place, and decided we’ll open up a pub here, but leave it looking like an abandoned building from the outside.

What you got there?

Street art!

This looks like my notes from school;

Mi Ranchito

We’ve been trying to explore our neighborhood a little more, so today we decided to check out Mi Ranchito, a Mexican restaurant not far from us. Food was good and they had lots of interesting stuff on the walls you could check out if you get bored with your company 🙂

I think we will be coming back here, Winnie says their menudo is the best one in our neighborhood, between all the mexican places we have tried so far.

The Boiler

We went to the Boiler in Chino for dinner, amazing food! Steam kettle, southern style cuisine. I want to go back!

Scottish Festival in OC

We went to a Scottish Festivals to check out bagpipes and men in kilts.

They were everywhere!

They had a bag pipe competition, which was cool, but it got a little tiresome after a while.  To me they all sound great, but they are very loud!

The guys in the Pasadena Bagpipe Band is alternative, as you would expect. My friend Megan had dyed her hair red in honor of her Scottish heritage, or something.

After Work Drinks

We’re started off Memorial Day Weekend right with drinks after work. Since I get off work first, I enjoyed the sun in downtown Culver City before meeting up with everyone else.

Gyenari have changed their name to Moko so we went there to see if anything else had changed. They’ve got punch! I didn’t like it that much, but it still looks good!

Radio Dept. at the Troubadour

I wasn’t planning on going to see Radio Dept. tonight as I saw them just  a few months ago and was not so impressed with their performance. But a friend asked me last night if I wanted to go, so I thought why not?

They played at the Troubadour, and it seemed like this venue suits them better! I am glad I went, I had a lot of fun!
