Catching Up with the Oscars

The Oscars was this Sunday and I had only seen two movies that was nominated, none of which won an award. Today was time to catch up, we started with True Grit.

My Favorite Sign!

I always run by this sign on my jog around the block, I love how the greens are taking over!

A New Brain

We went down to UC Irvine to see our friends musical A New Brain. As always, there were no cameras allowed, but I sneaked on in with the phone.

Habla?

I’m working on my list of 11 things to do in 2011 and signed up for a Spanish class at Santa Monica College. I was super excited for the class to start!

We were waiting for 30 minutes but the instructor never showed, so bummed!

It’s Live!

It took me about a year and a half to convince my boss to update our website, and a couple of months of hard work, but now it’s finally up! There’s still a bunch of work on it that needs to be done, but you can check it out at www.californiababy.com.

I no longer have to be embarrassed when I tell people I’m in charge of this website!

LA on a Winter Day

It’s been raining a lot (again), and when it rains in LA, it snows in the mountains! Venice Beach with the snowcaps in the background;

The view from Baldwin Hills in Culver City;

Karaoke Night

Karaoke night at Max Karaoke on Sawtelle!

We were done early and went back to our place to continue the festivities.
Our microwave has been broken for the longest time but they finally came to fix it today, so now we can eat popcorn again!

Day Off!

I got the day off work and spent it bumming around the house, cleaning up the kitchen and baking!

I could really get used to not having to work!

Radio Dept. at the El Rey

The Radio Dept. played an sold out show at the El Rey last night and I was super excited.

I love their music and thought they were great when I saw them back in 2003, so my expectations were high.
Unfortunately I think my expectations were a little too high as I was a little disappointed by the end of the show. The first half of the set was kind of boring, while the second half was a lot better, but not good enough to justify for the boring first half.

Birthday Celebration Continues

My birthday was on Tuesday, and I’ve been celebrating all week. Some friends came over tonight, and Meg brought her bagpipe over and played me Happy Birthday!
We finally got to taste the Blossa Glogg X! It was good, but didnt taste much of saffron as promised, it just tasted like regular glogg to me.
