the Lab

We watched the documentary Beer Wars last night and I got inspired, had to put this sign up in our lab at work.

BevMo 5 cents Sale!

I love when BevMo have their 5 cents sale!

Yep, you buy one bottle for regular price and get the second one for 5 cents!
It’s great for trying out new wines and a little more pricier wines that you normally wouldnt buy, since you get two bottles for the price of one!

Gallery Hopping

Nate Frizzell had an exhibition at the LeBasse gallery in Culver City.

Super crowded at the gallery, it was difficult to get up close to the paintings or to even move around the gallery!
Since it was so crowded we moved on to the Whole 9 down the street. I thought the Peace Project were cool, I’ve always been weak for these “images within the image” type of deal since I read Nick Hornby’s short story Nipple Jesus in my late teens. I don’t really remember what that short story was about and should probably read it again one day.

Creating Quality Leadership Class

I was sent off to another class, just a one full day class this time and not a 12 week class.

No class is complete without my awesome notes!

Chocolate Wine

I love chocolate, and I like wine, but I’m not so sure about chocolate wine… maybe I will have the guts to buy it next time I go to the store.

The Hollywood Sign

We’ve been living in our apartment for some 3 months now and we have a pretty decent kitchen, but I have to admit that I dont spend an awful lot of time in it. Today was the first time I noticed that we can see the Hollywood sign from our kitchen window!

Trick or Treat

After the hikes, we usually go somewhere for lunch. I am always exhausted and am ready to pass out, thinking I’d take a nap as soon as I get back home. But then after getting something to eat I get my energy back and have a hard time falling asleep. I was however drowsing on an off throughout the afternoon, watching old classics on netflix.

We then headed over to some friends to watch a scary movie and give out candy to the kids that came knocking on the door. The kids were adorable, it was a first time experience for me, thought it was gonna be lame, but we are so gonna dress up and do a haunted house for the kids next year!
Our friends neighbor is a lightning designer and had put up a big scull on a wall next to her house, it was super cool!

I fell asleep halfway through the movie, probably a good thing as I get nightmares from scary movies anyway.

Eagle Rock Hike Take 2

Wake up bright and early for a Sunday hike is exactly what you want to do after a costume ball at the LACMA, right? Well, it turned out to be worth it!

Just a few steps into our hike we stumbled upon a bunch of deers practicing their moves!

It was a great day for hiking, last year when we did this hike it was hot, it was a beautiful hiking day today!
I think this looks like a shark, what ya think?
Looking out over the canyon with the pacific in the background.

We met Coby on our way back!

Halloween at LACMA

The pineapple I got earlier during the day turned out to come in handy, I used it as a re-fill throughout the night, very eco-friendly!

I had not planned to go to the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) Muse Costume Ball, but managed to score free tickets, and since there was an open mashed potatoes buffet, I thought why not?

It seems like every party in LA have a photo booth, I love it! Here’s me and my pineapple hanging out with some buddies.
