Me and Whitey

So, we have 3 cats. They are all very different with different personalities. Whitey is the biggest, oldest, laziest and most cuddliest of the 3. Whenever I’m lounging around he just comes around and park himself on me. He is quite a big boy and rather heavy, but he is sweet, and I think I am his favorite 🙂

Book Signing with Martin Hsu

My friend Martin Hsu had a book signing for his latest book Multi Grain, we went to check it out.

A lot of people came out to meet the artist.
The book and a fan!

I got my book signed and doodled, got book no 17 out of 500.

LA Flea Market

Went to the LA Flea Market at the Dodger Stadium to see if we could pick up some stuff for the showroom at work.

The LA flea market was not as good as the Pasadena flea market, but there were still some cool stuff.

Downtown LA!

Beatles Night at the Pier

It was the Beatles night at the pier so we went down to check it out.

The cover band was horrible, but you can never go wrong with drinking Rose out of a plastic cup.

The Grove

I am still working on my homework assignment and needed something to take photos of so I took La Poderosa over to my friend and we went to check out the Grove. Cirque du Soleil was there, I dont know why but probably to promote a new show. I was busy snapping away with the camera. They had a piano filled with bubbles!

We continued on to the farmers market, which isn’t much of a farmers market; two stalls of fruits and veggies and then a bunch of small stores selling things and a lot of restaurants.

Instead of regular shopping baskets, they’ve got these really cool baskets on wheels that you can borrow, the color is awesome!

My lunch.

Bridal Shower Tea Party

My friend is getting married in a few weeks, she was having a tea party for all the girls today.

We played a bunch of games, like which celebrity is married to who, I think I finished last in every game.
Time to open the presents!

La Poderosa

I bought a scooter a couple of weeks ago. Probably the best thing I’ve ever done. I love it! I named it La Poderosa – The Mighty One. Che Guevara called his motorcycle La Poderosa as well.

Homework

We got an amazing, really cool Canon 7D for work a few months ago. All my friends shoot Canon so I’ve seen it being done, but I shoot with Nikon and the user experience is a little different. You can do the exact same thing, but how you get there differs.

I have not really touched the Canon over the summer as we’ve had an intern that’s been in charge of all the photography within the company over the last couple of months.
I scheduled a photo shoot for our online magazine for Wednesday. Made sure a fitness trainer, a model and the intern was available, but Wednesday came and our intern had forgotten he had to appear in court for busting a red light. Not a big deal, I wanted him to be a part of the shoot so he would see what it’s like, and quite frankly, he should know the camera better than me by now, but I should be able to take care of it by myself.
The photos turned out no good. Unusable.
Crap! I sent off a quick email to my boss explaining what happen, that we had to re-schedule a photo shoot and that I would take the camera home over the weekend so I could learn how to operate it.
So here’s my first session with the Canon 7D.

Sid is Back!

Sid went missing on Friday. When I came home from work, a window was open, it’s screen was on the ground and no cat to be found. He either fell out, or jumped out, but since we’re on the second floor he could not jump back in. A bunch of us went out looking, put up signs, notified neighbors, checked craigslist for found kittens and called shelters. Saturday morning at 5am I was convinced I heard him cry outside the window and went out to look for him, but no luck.

4 days came and went and no word from Sid. Did he find himself a Nancy? Was he still exploring? Did something happen to him? Did someone pick him up and wanted to keep him? We’ve heard stories about cats that been missing for weeks and even months that later found their way home, but Sid had never been outside and would not know his way around. For every day that passed I tried to get used to the fact that he might not come back, but then today at lunch I got a call; our neighbors found Sid, he’d been hanging out in their garage! Now he is back home, he had a bath and he is ruling the house as per usual. He think, that just cos he’s been gone for a few days, it’s ok for him to hang out on the kitchen table.
