A Whole Bag of Polly

My auntie is visiting my cousin in San Diego, I went down there for the weekend to see them. They had brought me a whole bag of Polly from Sweden, I LOVE POLLY!

Santa Barbara

We had a chill morning on the campground, deciding what to do of the day.
We took off to Santa Barbara, and the Brewing Company for a beer flight.
I like Santa Barbara a lot and today was a beautiful day. It was two days since I showered, so it was nice to jump in the ocean!

Had an awesome lobster roll for lunch out on the pier.

Wine Tasting in Santa Ynez

It was already dark when we came to the campground last night, so we set up our tents, had a small BBQ and headed off to bed. The  nice thing with camping is that you tend to always wake up bright and early!
On the schedule for today was wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley, outside Solvang. We had no real plan, just drove around to see what we could find.
We started off with Andrew Murray Vineyards.

A kind of hidden location behind the big Firestone vineyard, or actually, Andrew Murray Vineyards are renting a spot on one of Firestones big fields and it was kind of difficult to find, but it was well worth it once we got there.

Since we were already in the hood, we thought we’d might as well stop by the Firestone as well.

You can get Firestone everywhere, I think they might even export their wines.

We had one more stop scheduled, but were gonna meet up with some more friends and they were running late, so we stopped by Curtis Winery as well for some tasting and picnic. Turns out Curtis is also a part of the Firestone Wine Family.

We were all a little tired and tipsy and felt it was nap time, but we had decided we were gonna meet up with our friends at the Zaca Mesa Winery. We were still early so I was wandering around a bit.

I found their steel barrels that were recycled Pepsi Cola barrels.

Zaca Mesa was the last stop for the day, and also the best wine!

Puerto Nuevo

We took a day trip down to Mexico to eat lobster, something I’ve been wanting to do for over a year now!

They have Gringa Cerveza on the menu.
I settled for a more local version though.

I had two lobster and a beer for US$20

Nice view from the restaurant.

We stopped by a taco stand on the way home. I did not really feel it though, so I passed.

Cults at MOCA

Cults were doing a free show at the MOCA, I think we might have seen them one or two times to many by now so they don’t excite me that much right now. I think the problem with free shows as well is that everyone is just there for the shits and giggles, no one really pay attention to the band performing.
The Cults always puts on a good show though.

They had these bouncing balls at the event and Leo managed to smuggle one out.

There, I Fixed It!

There’s a blog called There, I Fixed it!, and it’s quite fun to waste some time on. I thought of that blog when my co-worker came up with the brilliant solution for the AC at work to be spread across the room and not just blast down on the poor guy who sits directly underneath it. Yay for creative people!

Wine Tasting

My room mate found a deal for wine tasting at the Winehouse that was expiring today so we had to use it. Never done this type of tasting before, when you get a value card and get to go into a room and get to taste away all by yourself, kind of like a vending machine!

Citizenship Test

For the last 5 months, I have been very anxious over this stupid American Citizenship test. I love the idea of if you wanna become a new citizen of a country, you should be able to know the basic history, language and rules and regulations of that country, but I have just been very nervous about it.
I was scheduled for my big test today and I nailed it!
They asked me 6 questions:
In which month is the US presidential election?
What is the political party of president of the United States?
What is the two major political parties of United States?
Name a state that boarders Mexico.
Name 3 of the original 13 states.
Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
As bonus questions they asked if I believe in the constitution and if I agreed to bear arms to defend US in a war. I answered yes on both of those, just to be on the safe side.

After the test, I went out for beers and burgers, cos that’s what Americans do, my friends bought a cake! Now I just have to be sworn in and I’ll be an American!

Celebrating with my awesome friends!

No at the Central SAPC

Went to see No at the Central SAPC in Santa Monica. A good show, even though the singer was fairly drunk.
