Sweden Bound

My sister is having her wedding reception, I told her I wasn’t gonna be able to make it, but decided to surprise the family and show up over the weekend anyway!
Music is a good companion on a 20h something trip!

Point Break Live at the Dragonfly

I’ve been dying to see Point Break Live ever since I heard about the show some 5 years ago, and I finally made it happen! It’s a live comedy performance based of the 1991 surf/action movie Point Break with Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey. I love that movie and used to watch it everyday during one summer when my older siblings were working.
Every night one person from the audience get picked to play Johnny Utah, since, as my friend said; Keanu Reeves can’t act.
There were a host that walked us through the show.

They sold a survivor kit by the door which included a rain poncho.

The audience is picking who we want to play Johnny Utah.

The show is starting, yay! Bank robbers!

Johnny Utah had an assistance who held up the lines for him to read out loud.

Gary Busey was awesome!

The surfers;

Skydiving!

Point Break Live was amazing! I want to go again!
Here’s the website for more information http://www.pointbreaklivela.com/Home.html

I came across this video where the real Gary Busey is visiting the show!

Unique LA

Unique LA is a design show created as a way to bring local-made design to the masses.

Martin was there so we stopped by his booth.

Accessories that probably only design geeks would wear.

I really like this; old beer bottles transformed into glasses!

They had a photo booth as well!

Los Angeles is pretty flat…

We stopped by Amoeba after the show, I found this album by Orup, a Swedish artist – I didn’t buy it though.

Culver City Classic Car Show

They had shut down Downtown Culver City and rolled up a bunch of classic cars.
They were all super beautiful and well taken care of! I brought the wrong lens, so I only got close up shots.

Björn

I met Björn at the supermarket today and brought him home, he was so happy!

It didn’t take him very long until he found the bar though.

Downtown LA Art Walk & Art Battles

We took the Metro downtown to go to the Art Walk.

We only managed to stop by two galleries before we came across the Art Battle.

4 artists, 4 large blank canvases and 90 minutes.

I got a little bored in-between and stepped out for some fresh air, came back in just in time for the final touch ups.

Once the time was up, the crowd got to vote on which artist we liked the best and who got to represent LA/US in Amsterdam later this summer.
Dave Zeboski was the winner;

Cats

The cats has a new favorite spot – just lounging on the couch.
