Santa Ynez Canyon Hike

We had planned to do a different hike today, but changed our minds in the parking lot at the trail head, it is always a little confusing with the hikes cos they dont mark the trails very well. We saw a sign for a waterfall and thought that sounded cool, so we took that path. We had to look out for poison oak and ticks today.

Area closed for plant rehabilitation, yeah, good luck with that… maybe you should consider feeding them some water as well then!

Interesting spiderweb!

We found a cave,

must explore!

A treasure box!

Someone had left it there a while ago and you were supposed to take one thing out and leave a different item for the next person who found the box. We didnt have anything to leave behind, but we tagged the box with our websites 🙂

We never found the waterfall, but we found a creek where the water once have been.

Poison Oak, so beautiful, but oh so no no!

The hike was a little over 3 hours long, and this was the first time I really felt it and got tired in my legs. It was extremely hot, and I had a good work out at the Santa Monica stairs yesterday, plus I woke up at 8am in my bed with the cloths still on from the night before to the text message “I’ll be at your place in 30 minutes”.
Almost back where we started we found this tree. I checked if it grew fresh lemonade like in Pippi Longstocking, but we were not that lucky.
